Paint your way to a new kitchen
It almost sounds too simple, doesn’t it? But you should never underestimate the power of paint to makeover your kitchen. The perfect colour, applied in just the right places, can make a kitchen feel completely different.
A few coats of paint are also a really cost-effective way to makeover your kitchen. So if you’re looking to save some dollars, painting is a great first option.
New doors and drawers
A lot of storage is needed in a kitchen for all the pots and pans, tableware, glassware, and cleaning products, etc. This means cupboard doors and drawers take up a lot of surface area in most kitchens, and are one of the first things you notice. If your cupboard doors and drawers are looking a bit sad and tired, why not replace them?
Chances are no one is going to see much of what goes on inside the cupboards, so there’s no need to rip them all out. Replacing the doors and drawers is another simple way to give your kitchen a makeover. But if this is too expensive, you could simply repaint them and replace the handles.
Bench tops
Bench tops are another aspect of kitchens that tend to take up a lot of surface area and see a lot of wear and tear. A new bench top can really give your kitchen a fresh feel.
Replacing a bench top can get quite pricey, especially if you want to replace old timber with, say, marble, so let your budget dictate your decisions. If you can’t afford to replace the whole bench top, these days you can buy special bench-top paint.

Appliances and matching features
Another great way to spruce up your kitchen is to buy a few new key appliances. It’s a good idea to match the appliances with the new paint colour.
It can be as simple as buying a matching toaster and kettle from a department store. And if you throw in a few matching features like some new tea towels, cutlery, and even some artwork for the walls, your kitchen will start taking on a whole new feel in no time.
